• We recommend you consider using PayPal to handle the transactions, along with a Credit Card. If you don't recieve an item or it's not in the condition advertised, and the seller is not cooperative, then PayPal or your credit card company can resolve the dispute and protect your money. The credit card company will typically credit the money back to your account, and contact the seller to resolve the transaction. This is the only way to get your money back in cases of dishonest people.
• Buyers/sellers should also consider using an escrow service to protect the integrity of the transaction (so buyer and seller both receive what was promised). An example of this is where the seller uses a company like Escrow.com and the buyer sends their money to Escrow.com They advise the seller to ship the item to the buyer, and when the buyer recieves the item and is satisfied, they advise Escrow.com to pay the seller (called releasing the funds).
• Sellers should ship items using services that provide a tracking number as proof that the buyer received the item, and buyers should ask for the tracking number as proof that the seller shipped it.
